nature collides with civilization

Just felt like sharing some excerpts from my book that I am writing ...see below....
The collage above was just an experiment, not one I am really happy with. But getting back into more art after some time without doing much at all, so was a bit rusty. It's strange but the collage (which I actually did a few months ago) seems to echo the recent events in New York. My heart goes out to all those in the U.S, Canada and the rest of the world experiencing disasterous floods, earthquakes, fires, etc...
I am taking the next few months off to follow my heart, putting time into my art and see where it leads me. Only problem is, I am not very good at saying no to people ringing me for help. As soon as I made the decision to stop work and start to concentrate on my art, the phone hasn't stopped ringing with new clients and old ones ringing for sessions. Just the Universe's way of testing me I think.
